H Residence is a modern tropical house located in North Jakarta, Indonesia. We envisioned a contemporary tropic house as the base of the design. In order to achieve this, natural elements such as lights and air ventilation is taken seriously in this project. We were able to achieve this through two elements in this house high ceilings, voids, and huge openings in the facade. High ceilings and voids allow circulation of air throughout the house. Huge facade openings allow for natural lights to stream in the insides of the house, while giving it a chance to play with the aesthetic. The facade is cloistered with plants, to achieve the final tropical element. The living room and dinning room and dry kitchen are on an open floor plan. This allows the space to look huge. The residence has a total of 4 bedrooms, in which 2 of them are master bedrooms. The main bedroom has a high ceiling of almost 6 meters. We also added a rooftop where the family can gather. This Rooftop area has a pavilion for barbeques, and an outdoor gym space. We also designed the landscpae to be surrounded by greeneries for the family to enjoy while overlooking the scenic beauty of the surrounding neighborhood.
